Good government starts with informed voters! Know your Candidate!

Why I'm Running for Congress

There has not been a time in American history when we have had a greater need for intelligent, thoughtful Representatives. In these difficult times, we need Statesmen, not Politicians

I’m running for Congress because:

I'm fed up with "politics as usual"--negative campaigns and empty promises.

I'm fed up with politicians who vote their Party position instead of the issues.

I’m fed up with politicians who care more about being re-elected than solving problems.

I'm fed up with ineffective programs and bloated federal bureaucracies.

I'm fed up with having to vote for candidates determined by Party Politics.

WE DESERVE BETTER

Government is a business … and it needs to be run like a business. I intend to change the way Congress does business. I intend to bring a disciplined, business approach to prioritizing needs and allocating taxpayer money. I’m not a Professional Politician. I have actually done something in the "real world." I've started businesses. I have had to make a payroll and balance a budget. I’ve had to fight the government over its regulations. I understand the consequences of irresponsible Congressional action. I will be an experienced advocate for the people who are affected by Congressional action.

Public service is a Privilege … not an opportunity for personal gain. Too many of our elected representatives are Professional Politicians who make their decisions based on how it benefits them. I have already had a successful career and have no need for personal gain. I’m not looking for glory, power or personal opportunity. I’m not going to be concerned with being re-elected. I’m only going to be concerned with solving the nation’s problems.

We need Representatives who think before they act. Too many of our Congressmen rush to act whenever they see an opportunity to score points with the voters. That's irresponsible government. We need representatives who will take the time to learn all the facts before they act.

We need Representatives capable of serious thought. Too many of our Congressional representatives come from the ranks of local and state politics, or state or local government service. They have neither the education nor the experience to understand the complexity of national and international problems. We need Representatives who have studied national problems. We need Representatives who can understand and analyze the complexities of federal legislation and regulation--as I have done as a tax attorney and litigator specializing in federal labor laws.

We need Representatives who understand problems ... not just politics. The problems facing us—individually and collectively—are complex. They don’t have simple solutions. Addressing the issues that concern voters, without understanding all the consequences of the proposed solution, is not Responsible Government. Our elected Representatives are either unable or unwilling to learn what they need to know about issues because they’re too busy raising funds for their next election.

The voters are entitled to a choice.
Partisan politics and “gridlock” are killing our country. Professional Politicians, whose first loyalty is to their party leaders and “fat cat” contributors, are killing our country. Neither the Republicans nor Democrats really represent the people. You are entitled to a choice.

Without principles, nothing else matters. Americans have lost faith in their government because they have lost faith in the personal integrity of the people we elect. I need your support, but I am not going to try to gain your support by telling you something I don't believe, or promising you I'll do something I know I cannot do.

The only way to change the way Government does business is to change the kind of people we send to Washington. We have to stop electing Professional Politicians and start electing people who will manage government like what it is—a business. I believe you want the best representatives you can get. You deserve a Congressman who has real experience doing something other than holding public office.

You deserve a Congressman with experience in dealing with the real problems of businesses and individuals. You deserve a Congressman with the intelligence to understand complex issues. You deserve a Congressman whose concern is solving problems—not just getting re-elected. But I can't do it alone.

I NEED YOUR HELP.
I need your ideas.
I need your time.
And, yes, I need your money.
